Autumn Cottage Watercolor Print
Eighteen square autumn landscapes where white cottages with red or thatched roofs sit among copper trees and ochre fields. People walk the lanes in most of them, which gives a wall of these a lived-in, storybook feel.

Autumn Cottage is a set of 18 square landscape pictures, all set in the same kind of countryside: rolling fields in ochre and gold, trees gone copper and rust, and small white cottages with red tile or straw-colored thatch roofs. The skies stay pale, mostly cream with a little gray, so the warm colors on the ground carry the whole set.
What’s in the pictures
About half the scenes are wide views over layered hills, with a dirt lane winding toward a far-off farmhouse and a wooden fence running along the edge. Others come in close. Two have an arched stone bridge over a stream, one has a white church with a bell tower, and several put a cottage right in the foreground with smoke coming from the chimney. Most pictures include small figures on the path, like a woman in a long red skirt or a pair of children walking together. Birds cross the sky in nearly all of them.
Sizing a square print
Each file is 4096 pixels on each side. At 300 pixels per inch that works out to about 13.6 inches (34.7 cm) square, so a 12 x 12 inch print still gets about 340 pixels per inch. The pictures are square. To fit an 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 frame, you’d need to crop, and a lane or cottage near the edge may get cut.
Hanging them
Two or three in a row suit a hallway or the space above a sideboard. Pick one with a bridge, one wide field and one close-up cottage so the row doesn’t repeat itself. Matte paper keeps the soft wash look better than glossy photo paper.
