Summer Cottage is 20 square watercolor-style landscapes set in the thick green part of the year. Hedges and trees are full, flower borders run along every path, and the cottages look lived-in: heavy moss on the thatch, smoke from brick chimneys, round wooden doors in stone walls.
The scenes
Most of the set stays in cottage country. Paths climb stone steps between boulders, curve past picket fences and cross little arched footbridges, and a stream shows up in about a third of the pictures. A tall pink foxglove frames one scene, and two go out into open fields of sunflowers and wheat, one with a walker in a straw hat and backpack.
The two sea pictures are different in feel. A cluster of pale stone houses with terracotta roofs clings to a cliff, a stairway winds down past red flowers, and the sun sits low over calm water. They add warmth to a group of the green scenes, or can hang as a pair on their own.
Colors
The greens are deep and slightly muted, not neon, and the skies are cream and peach. Red roofs and red flowers are the accent color in almost every picture, which helps several prints look like one set on a wall.
Printing
Each file is 4096 x 4096 pixels. That covers a 13.6-inch (34.7 cm) square at 300 pixels per inch, and 10 x 10 or 12 x 12 inch square frames with room to spare. Rectangular frames need a crop.
