These Thanksgiving backgrounds are built around one cast of cute turkeys: plump brown birds with rosy cheeks and tail feathers fanned out in orange, gold, sage and gray-blue. Some face you with wings spread, some walk sideways, and some sit with their feet sticking out. Pumpkins and acorns fill the gaps between them.
Ten turkey patterns, five soft grounds
Designs 1 to 10 use the same turkeys, pumpkins and acorns. What changes is the background color and the extra leaves.
- No leaves: Cream Gathering (cream with a faint dot grid), Sage Snuggles (pale sage, mostly sitting turkeys), Blush Fanfare (pale pink with dots, mostly front-facing turkeys) and Wheat Reunion (warm pale yellow).
- Green oak leaves: Blue Gobblers and Oak Garden on pale blue, and Little Wanderers on cream, where most turkeys are walking.
- Orange maple leaves: Maple Meander on cream.
- Both kinds of leaves: Harvest Leaves on sage and Autumn Lullaby on blush.
Because the motifs repeat across the ten, they mix well on one project. A card can use Blue Gobblers on the front and Oak Garden inside, and the turkeys will match.
Plaids and plain papers
Sage Picnic, Blush Checks and Blue Tablecloth are one plaid in three colors. The turkeys are much smaller here and share the space with acorns, so these read more like a tablecloth than a turkey print. Designs 14 to 16 have no pictures at all: Pumpkin Cream is a solid peach, Golden Wheat a solid soft yellow, and Apricot Glow a gradient that goes from cream at the top to peach in the middle and back to cream. Use them for mats, card insides or anywhere a busy pattern would be too much.
JPG or PNG
The JPG and PNG of each design show the same picture. The PNG is the one to repeat. Place it at 100%, with no rotation and no gap, and the edges join without a seam. START-HERE.txt notes that JPG compression can shift the edge pixels slightly. Neither file is transparent. The background color is part of every PNG, so these are papers, not cut-out turkey clipart.
All 13 illustrated designs, plaids included, were laid out at full size from separately made AI motifs that were scaled to fit. None of them is a single 3600-pixel AI picture.
Printing
Each PDF page holds one square design with white margins. The square is 7.5 inches on US Letter and about 7.27 inches on A4 when printed at Actual Size. For a full 12-inch square, print the JPG or PNG instead, on paper that size. Test one page before a big batch, since colors on paper shift a little from the screen.
