Fish Clipart & Fishing SVG Sayings

Two kinds of fish share this fish clipart set. Most are bright aquarium characters with round eyes and fins streaked in coral, gold and teal; five are drawn much closer to real fish. The color work has a chalky, gouache-like finish, with stripes and scales laid down in short strokes over flat fills.

Pet-shop fish and catch-of-the-day fish

Designs 01 to 10 are the cartoon fish: a red goldfish, a gold fantail, a betta with a dark teal body and huge coral fins, a green angelfish with coral bands and trailing threads, a guppy with a spotted silver body, a fish in wavy green and coral stripes, a clownfish, a spiky green pufferfish with pink spots, a round navy fish dotted with yellow, and a slim sage fish with a coral stripe down its side.

Designs 11 to 15 change tone. The tuna has a navy back and a yellow line, the bass is olive with dark blotches along its flank, and the trout arcs upward with a pink stripe and fine black spots. A cream koi with coral patches and a yellow goldfish finish the group. The index files these five as fish silhouettes, and their black solid versions keep the tell-tale fins and tails of each kind.

Schools, scenery and tackle

Two designs are groups: a ring of eight small fish chasing each other’s tails, and six patterned fish lined up in three rows of two. The scenery pieces are a trail of five bubbles, seaweed growing between two stones, pink branching coral on a mound of sand, a round fishbowl with a goldfish, plants and pebbles, and curling blue waves with cream crests. For the fishing side there is a teal hook with a coral wrap at the eye, a red, cream and navy float, and a landing net with a gold handle.

The five sayings

“Reel Cool”, “Born To Fish”, “Hooked On Fishing”, “Just Keep Reeling” and “Catch Of The Day” are set in tall serif capitals, teal on the first line and coral on the second. Each has a small picture underneath: the goldfish, the trout, the guppy, a float bobbing on a wave, and the bass. The lettering is outlined, so nothing needs installing. Because the serifs and crossbars are thin, the guide puts the sayings with the fish schools and the net in its largest starting size, 10 to 12 inches, against 6 to 8 inches for the cartoon fish and scenery and 4 to 8 inches for simple silhouettes.

What turns black, and what stays open

In the single-color files every design is one black shape with gaps cut through it. Some keep more air than you might expect: the bubbles become five open rings, and the net stays a web of thin strands, so test a small piece before committing to a full cut. Loose bits like eye centers and letters come out as separate islands, which the guide says need transfer tape. The DXF files carry the same single-color outlines in inches. The color PNGs are renders of the color vectors, so the PNG and SVG show the same picture; use the PNG up to 12 inches on its long side at 300 dpi, and the SVG or EPS for anything larger.
