Thirty small animals, from a hamster and a sloth to a whale and a bee, each designed to fit on a single 29 × 29 square pegboard. The whole set shares one muted 22-color palette, so the finished pieces look good lined up together.

The animals in this set are the small ones. Every one fits inside 29 × 29 squares, the size of one standard square pegboard, and uses between 255 and 431 beads. On 5 mm beads a finished animal is about 14.5 cm (5.7 in) across, a good size for a coaster or a fridge magnet. On 2.6 mm mini beads the same chart comes out about half that size.

The 30 animals

Cat, dog, bunny, hamster, mouse, hedgehog, bear, fox, raccoon, koala, sloth, red panda, lion, tiger, leopard, panda, elephant, cow, pig, sheep, duck, unicorn, owl, penguin, chick, parrot, turtle, whale, frog and bee.

The palette stays soft throughout: grays, sandy browns, peach, mint and dusty pink rather than bright primaries. Across all 30 patterns there are 22 colors and 10,184 beads in total.

Reading the charts

Each page shows the animal’s name, its bead count, the number of colors and the finished size, then the full chart. Squares are marked with a letter for their color, rows and columns are numbered along the edges, and a heavier line falls every four squares, so you can count in small blocks. Below the chart, a key lists each color with its swatch, letter and exact bead count, which lets you sort your beads before you start.

The printed chart is larger than the pegboard, so keep the page beside the board and count across and down rather than tracing through the pegs. The letters mean the charts print fine in black and white.

Every design is one connected piece: each bead touches another along a flat side, and none of the animals has an empty hole in the middle, so nothing drops out after ironing.

The color names on the charts come from the Artkal midi bead range, and the patterns work with any 5 mm fuse beads such as Perler or Hama. Doodlora Studio is not affiliated with Artkal, Perler or Hama.
