Pet Would You Rather is a card deck of 70 either-or questions about animals, for kids and grown-ups who can argue all afternoon about cats versus dogs. The first card asks exactly that.
The seven themes
Each theme has ten cards and its own color.
- Pet Life: one dog that lives 20 years, or three dogs that live 10 years each?
- Pet Owner Life: a pet that loves bath time, or one that loves being brushed?
- Animal Kingdom: a pet penguin or a pet sloth, swimming with dolphins or riding an elephant.
- Pet Parties: a pizza theme or an ice cream theme for your pet’s party.
- Silly Animals: a friendly T-Rex, a zebra-striped dog, a polka-dotted cat.
- All About Dogs: a tiny Chihuahua or a giant Great Dane.
- All About Cats: a fluffy Persian or a hairless Sphynx.
Ways to play
The guide starts with a simple circle: draw a card, everyone picks a side, and animal noises earn bonus points. In Pet Owner Special, players answer the way their own pet (or dream pet) would, and the table votes for the most creative answer, which wins a Best Pet Parent point. Guess the Vote has everyone point at A or B on the count of three while the reader tries to predict the winning side, and the voting sheet tracks the score. It works for two to ten players, or more.
The second page suggests where the cards fit: a dog or cat birthday party with just that theme, an adoption or gotcha day, a family game night, a classroom animal unit, or a small set kept in the glove box for car rides. A real pet or a stuffed one can sit in as referee.
Printing
Cut the cards apart along the guides, four to a page. Print the card backs on the reverse and flip on the long edge if you want them double-sided. The ink-saver files are the black-and-white version.
