Little Space Explorers is 36 bookmarks to color, drawn in a round, friendly cartoon style where almost everything has a face. The sun grins, the moon looks sleepy, Earth smiles, and even the stars in the star cluster have eyes. Each bookmark has a thin rounded frame, a small SPACE / 01 to SPACE / 36 number at the top and the design’s name in a label at the bottom.
The six missions
Little Spacecraft covers ways to get off the ground: a rocket, a space shuttle, a flying saucer with a green alien, a moon lander, a parachuting capsule and a space glider. Our Little Crew is the cast: a young astronaut, a robot hauling moon rocks, a puppy in a helmet chasing a floating bone, a kitten in a moon buggy, a bunny holding a flag and a friendly green alien.
Planet Pals has the Sun, Moon, Earth, Mars, Saturn and Neptune, a few of them with rovers or satellites parked nearby. Sky Treasures turns to things that streak and swirl: a shooting star with a rainbow tail, a comet, a meteor, a star cluster, a spiral galaxy and a nebula.
Mission Helpers is equipment (moon rover, satellite, space telescope, radio dish, solar panels, space backpack), and New Adventures imagines living out there: a moon base, a space station, a star garden, a picnic on the moon with an alien friend, a moon playground with a slide, and an alien’s mushroom-shaped house.
Line art and color
The black-and-white PDF is for coloring. The color reference PDF repeats the same 17 pages in full color, so a child can match it or pick their own colors. The instructions page calls them playful fantasy pictures rather than science diagrams.
Pages 15 and 16 give six blank bookmarks with starter labels: My Alien Friend, My New Planet, My Star Garden, My Rocket, My Moon Base and My Space Adventure.
Printing
Use US Letter paper, single-sided, at 100%. Measure the 1-inch line on page 2 first. On A4, center the page at 100% with no scaling. Cut along the thin outer rectangle; the rounded border inside it is decoration. An adult should help with the scissors.
