The On the Farm checklist has 24 things to find, and the list reads like a day at a farm: a cow, a pig, a sheep, a horse, a chicken, a rooster, a duck, a goat, a turkey, a rabbit, a farm dog and a barn cat, then a barn, a tractor, a windmill, a scarecrow and a hay bale, and finally the harvest, with an apple, a carrot, corn, a pumpkin, a sunflower and an egg. A bee rounds it out.
Not every farm has all 24
Some items, like a windmill, a turkey or a scarecrow, won’t be on every farm. On the score page those harder finds are worth 5 points instead of 1. The instructions give the game as ages 3 and up and 2 to 6 players.
What’s on each page
| Page | What it does |
|---|---|
| How to play | Four steps, from printing the page to finding them all |
| Picture grid | All 24 items in large boxes with checkboxes |
| Two-column list | The same items with smaller pictures |
| Three-column list | A compact version plus bonus challenges: something soft, something that grows, three different animals, something red |
| Score hunt | Common animals like a cow or a pig are 1 point, rarer finds like a scarecrow or a windmill are 5 |
| Certificate | I Did It! with a line for a name and the date |
Printing
The color pictures are bright and detailed, with a pink pig, a red barn and a yellow sunflower. The black-and-white file draws them as outlines, so it costs less ink and leaves pictures that can be colored in. Laminated, a checklist can go along on more than one farm visit.
