Rockets, planets, aliens and a space ice pop: 24 space things for kids to find and check off. Each one is a cute cartoon drawing with its name in capitals underneath, so the hunt works for kids who go by the pictures.
The 24 items
The list mixes the real sky with the make-believe kind.
- In the sky: the sun, the moon, a star, a shooting star, planet Earth, a red planet, a ringed planet, a galaxy, a meteor
- Space gear: a rocket, a space shuttle, a satellite, a telescope, a Mars rover, a lunar lander, a moon flag, an astronaut
- Just for fun: a UFO, an alien, a robot, a space dog, a space cat, a ray gun, a space ice pop
Only a handful of these, like the sun, the moon and a star, can be seen in the real sky. The rest are things kids are more likely to spot in books, on clothes or among their toys.
Bonus rounds and points
The compact checklist page ends with four bonus challenges: something that glows, something round like a planet, three different stars and something that flies. The score hunt page turns it into a race, with 1 point for the everyday items like the moon and the sun and 5 points for rarer ones like a galaxy, a Mars rover or a space cat. The files mark the game for ages 3 and up and 2 to 6 players, and there’s an I Did It! certificate to hand out at the end.
Two versions
The color file has bright, detailed pictures. The black-and-white file has the same 24 as line drawings, easy on ink and fine for coloring afterward.
