The machine on all 24 pages is a modern farm tractor with an enclosed cab, two large ridged rear tires, smaller front wheels, an exhaust stack and a hitch at the back. None of them carry a brand name. The drawings sit inside a ruled frame on a landscape page, with the scene name printed above.
Farm jobs and resting spots
What makes this set more than 24 pictures of the same machine is that the tractor is usually working. It pulls a plow through a spring field and again through an autumn orchard, drags a rotary tiller along a vegetable bed and a community garden, runs a seed drill between corn rows, and mows wheat with a wide deck mower. It also hauls things: hay bales on a flat cart, crates of apples, a load of soil to a greenhouse, baskets at a berry farm, and sacks in a farm courtyard.
When it isn’t working, the tractor is parked in a pumpkin patch, by a cottage with a watering can, at a pasture gate under a windmill, on a stone farm bridge, under a workshop roof with hand tools on the wall, and by a snowy barn on the last page.
Three levels
Pages 01–08 have big tires and plenty of plain ground. Pages 09–16 add implements, crops and greenhouses. Pages 17–24 fill in the background with vineyard terraces, silos, a stone bridge over a river, a coast with a lighthouse and sailboats, and stacked hay. The printing guide describes the set as suited to children and teens, starting with larger spaces and moving to fuller scenes. In the colored guides the tractors are red, green or blue.
