Forty puzzles make up this birthday book, split into three parts named like a party program. Party Classics holds the Easy grids (Birthday Cake, Balloon Bouquet, Party Hats, Make a Wish), Celebrate Together the Medium ones (Decorate the Room, Build a Balloon Arch, Treasure Hunt, Photo Booth Fun), and The Big Birthday Bash the Hard ones, ending with The Grand Birthday Finale.
What changes at each level
Easy pages pair a 12 x 12 grid with ten short words like CAKE, BOW, WISH and TAPE. These read across or down only, with at most two placed on a down-right slant. Medium moves to 15 x 15 and twelve words, Hard to 20 x 20 and sixteen. Both of the upper levels hide words in all eight directions, and backward is fair game. Many Hard entries are two-word phrases such as Musical Chairs, Freeze Dance, Time Capsule and Group Photo; the how-to page tells players to ignore the space when hunting for them.
Party games in the back
Five bonus games fill eight pages. Confetti Sprint is a three-minute race on any puzzle. Surprise Word Hunt and Birthday Bash Mystery hide 12 and 20 birthday words in grids with no list, so only the host knows what to look for. Party Mix Categories sorts 16 words into Decorations, Treats, Tableware and Activities, and Cupcake Dash races through P15, the Birthday Bake Shop puzzle, in five minutes. A score sheet with a Birthday Champion line closes the set.
For a party, print one copy of the same puzzle per guest and keep the answer pages with whoever is hosting. Standard printer paper is fine, with no cardstock needed.
