These French bulldog silhouettes cover twenty poses and portraits, and the ears do most of the work: tall, rounded bat ears stand straight up in every design, even from behind. Under them sit a short flat muzzle, deep folds over the nose and a compact body on short legs.
A rear view, a leap and a pair
Design 14 shows the dog from behind, sitting, with both ears up and the small curled tail at the base of the back. Design 13 is a dog in mid-leap with its legs stretched out front and back, and 05 is running. Design 15 puts two dogs side by side, one a little smaller, both looking out at you.
The rest run from everyday to dressed up:
- Standing in profile, sitting face-on, sitting side-on, lying down, and asleep with the head resting low
- Three heads: straight on, side profile and a tilted head
- A bow tie, a knotted scarf, and a pup sitting up with a bone held across its chest

The blank name frame
In design 20, the dog’s head peeks over a long empty rectangle, as if looking over a fence. Nothing is written inside it. The guide says no lettering or font comes with it, so the name is up to you, either typed in your own design software or written on the print. The frame is open in the files too: in the PNG the inside of the bar is transparent, not white.
Solid or banded outline
The solid version is one black shape with the folds, eye rims, ear fur and chest markings opened up as gaps. The outline version is drawn differently from most line art: each line is a thin closed band, so up close every contour reads as two fine parallel edges. START-HERE.txt calls these detailed cut graphics, not bridged stencils, which means the eyes and other enclosed bits are separate pieces. Try a sample at your project size first.
For printing, each PDF opens with a cover and then gives one design per page, labeled with its number and name. On the one-per-page US Letter sheets, each dog fills about 6 inches on its longest side. The four- and six-per-page sheets repeat a single design for making several of the same at once.
Questions
- Can I type my dog's name into the name frame?
- Not in the file as supplied. Design 20 is an empty rectangle under the dog's head, with no font or editable text. You add your own lettering in your design software or write on the print.
- Will the small inside pieces stay attached when cut?
- No. START-HERE.txt says these are detailed cut graphics, not bridged stencils, so enclosed details and small separate pieces are meant to be there. Test a sample with your material first.
