English Bulldog Silhouettes with Matching Line Art: 20 Poses, Portraits and Puppies
Twenty English bulldogs, from a resting sphinx and a curled-up sleeper to a puppy in a heart frame, each drawn twice. One version is a black papercut silhouette with the wrinkles opened up as flowing gaps, the other a fine, detailed outline drawing of the same pose.

Twenty English bulldogs, each drawn twice: that’s the whole idea of this set. The Solid file is a single black shape with the folds of skin carved out as long, flowing gaps, the way a papercut works. The Outline file is the same pose as a detailed English bulldog outline drawing, with fine strokes for each wrinkle, the jowls and the toes.
The bulldog shape in both versions
Every design keeps the features you’d know the breed by: small folded rose ears, a short pushed-in muzzle, heavy jowls with the lower teeth showing, broad shoulders and a stubby tail. In the Solid files those folds become the pale openings across the face, chest and shoulders. In the Outline files they are drawn as thin lines, and the inside of the dog stays empty.
The two versions are drawn separately, not traced from each other, so a silhouette and its outline can differ a little in proportion and contour.
Twenty poses and portraits
- Full body, 01 to 08: standing side-on, sitting, lying with front paws out, walking, trotting, a play bow, a long stretch and a dog asleep in a curl.
- Heads, 09 to 11: looking straight ahead, in profile and turned three-quarters.
- Puppy and family, 12 and 13: a seated puppy, and a grown dog sitting next to a standing pup.
- Dressed up and framed, 14 to 20: a bow tie on a sitting dog, a head in a Santa hat, a head in a shield with a paw print below, the standing dog with a bone, a puppy inside a heart, a head over a spray of daisies and leaves, and a head in a ring.
Four of the framed pieces reuse a dog from earlier in the set. Design 17 is the standing dog from 01 with a bone added, 18 puts the seated puppy in the heart, and 16 and 20 share the front-facing head. No design has lettering or a name space.
Which file to open
The Solid shapes are simple: roughly 70 to 230 pieces each. The Outline drawings are built from roughly 800 to 2,800 small closed shapes, because every fine stroke is a filled sliver rather than a line. START-HERE.txt says the fine line art is best for printing and larger projects, and that the files have not been through a physical cut test, so test your size and material first.
The PDFs print each design on its own page with its number and name in a small header. On the full-page US Letter sheets the dog fills about 6 inches on its longest side, while the four-up and six-up sheets repeat one design across the page. Print at actual size. For a clean print with no header, use the PNG or SVG instead. The SVGs sit on a 10 x 10 inch canvas, and the 3000 px PNGs cover the same 10 inches at 300 dpi.
Questions
- Are the outline drawings filled with white?
- No. Only the black lines are in the files. Inside the dog, the PNGs are transparent and the SVGs have nothing there, so paper or fabric shows through.
- Do any of the designs have words on them?
- No. None of the 20 designs has lettering. The only text is the small number-and-name header and page footer on each PDF page.
