Four toe pads over one main pad: every design in this set starts from that same dog paw. Twenty designs take it from a single print to a trail of steps, a ring of eight paws and a paw sitting on top of a blank name plate. All of them come in a solid black version and a line version.
Five plain paws and three with something extra
The first five are the paw on its own, drawn five ways. Classic (01) is the even, familiar shape. Wide (02) spreads the toes and flattens the main pad, Puppy (03) has rounder, chunkier toes, Long (04) stretches the toes into tall ovals, and Organic (05) lets the pads sit a little unevenly.
Design 06 adds four small claw points above the toes. Design 07 has a heart cut into the main pad, and 17 puts a numeral 1 there instead.
Three blanks for a name
Design 12 sets a paw above an empty rounded rectangle, 13 puts one above an outlined dog bone, and 14 is a tall rounded tag with a paw at the top and a single line under it. None of them has any lettering. The guide leaves names to you, added in your own editor, and no fonts come in the download. Design 08, a paw inside a heart outline, works the same way if you want a frame without words.
Trails, a ring and a border
Two trails cross the artboard on a diagonal, four prints each: in a straight line in 10 and with a slight curve in 11. Design 09 sets two paws side by side, each at a slight angle, above a small heart. In 15, eight small paws stand in a circle with their toes pointing outward, and 16 places a paw at each corner of a square with straight lines between them. Design 18 rings a paw with two leafy laurel branches, and 19 sets one above a pair of crossed bones.
Loose pads, and the one paw that holds together
In most of the solid designs every pad is a separate shape. A plain paw is five pieces, a trail is twenty and the paw ring is forty, so cut pieces need transfer tape to stay in place, as the guide suggests. Design 20 is the exception. Its solid version joins the four toes to the main pad with straight bridges, so it cuts as one shape, and for a stencil the guide treats that black area as the part you cut away.
The line version draws each shape as a thin closed band, two edges rather than one stroke, so it won’t work as a single-line path for pen or engraving. Areas closed in by a line can need bridges added before you cut them. The guide asks you to test your own material and size first.
Sizes, layouts and the calibration bar
SVG and DXF files sit on an 8 x 8 inch artboard, with the DXF in inches, and the artwork inside runs from about 3.9 to 6.8 inches wide. The PNGs are 2400 pixels square at 300 dpi.
Each 58-page PDF starts with the 20 line designs at full page size, up to about 6.5 inches across on US Letter. Five four-up pages and four six-up pages follow, mixing different designs on 3-inch and 2.25-inch artboards; the last six-up page holds only designs 19 and 20. Then the same 29 pages repeat in solid. The four-up and six-up pages carry a 1-inch bar, so measure it after printing at Actual Size to check that nothing was scaled.
Questions
- Is there a cat paw in the set?
- No. Every paw here is drawn as a dog paw with four toe pads and one main pad. Only design 06 adds claws, as four small points above the toes. The guide calls them decorative paws rather than real tracks, so they aren't matched to any breed.
- Does the number design come with other numbers?
- No. Design 17 has the numeral 1 set inside the main pad, and the guide says that is the only number included.
