These 20 capybaras spend their time sitting, soaking and napping, a few of them with an orange balanced on the head. Every design comes twice, as a solid shape and as an outline of the same drawing.

Baths, oranges and company

Four designs are in the water. One capybara soaks between rounded rocks in a rippled pool (07), one faces you from a round pool with an orange and a leaf on its head (08), one swims low with just its head and back above a wavy line (09), and one sits half under the surface, eyes shut, with ripples around it (10).

Design 08 is one of three with an orange. The others are a capybara sitting tall with its eyes closed and the orange perched between its ears (11), and one lying flat with a smaller orange on top (12).

Four more bring company. A small bird stands on the back of a standing capybara (13) and on the rump of a sitting one (14). A mother walks with her calf at her side (15), and in 16 she lies down with the calf tucked in against her side.

Everyday poses and two portraits

The rest are plain capybara moments: standing side-on (01), sitting (02), lying with the legs tucked under (03), walking (04), trotting (05) and stretching with the front legs out (06). Design 17 holds a leafy sprig up to its mouth, and 18 stands beside a clump of reeds. The last two are head portraits, one in profile (19) and one straight on, showing off the wide nose (20).

How the two versions are built

The solid file keeps the eye, ear, chin and leg lines as thin cuts through the black shape. The outline version draws those same lines as closed bands instead of open strokes, so the line weight can’t be changed with a stroke setting.

On the 10 x 10 inch canvas, the longest side of each drawing is about 8.4 inches, leaving a margin around it. The guide warns that the birds, the orange leaves and the small paws need a reasonable project size, and that the shapes aren’t meant to hold together as one-piece stencils at every size. Cutting hasn’t been tried on every design and material, so test a piece first.

For printing, the PDFs repeat one design per page at full size, four up or six up. Print at Actual Size with Fit to Page turned off.

Questions

Are the water lines and the calf joined to the capybara?
Not always. The guide notes that family groups, water lines and scene pieces such as the reeds can be separate shapes, so keep them in place when you move or resize a design.
Is there any lettering in the designs?
No. All 20 are pictures only. The only text in the download is the design name and page details printed on the PDF pages, which is what the font notice covers.
