Close, broken strokes stand in for fur on all 20 bears here, with solid black kept for small spots like the noses and eyes. Behind every line drawing there’s a solid version: the same bear as a single black shape.

Wild bears, two teddies and a paw

Most of the set is wild bears doing ordinary bear things. One walks with a front paw lifted (02), one stands up on its hind legs (12), one sits with its back to you and looks over its shoulder (14), and one stretches low with its rump in the air (15). Two are asleep, curled tight with the head tucked in (06 and 11), and design 20 is a long-necked polar bear mid-stride.

Several come with a bit of setting. There’s a bear walking in front of mountain peaks and two pines (04), a bear framed by a broken circle with trees and rocks (09), one passing a tall pine (18), a crescent moon and stars over a walking bear (13), and a bear asleep in a crescent of fern leaves under a moon (19). Design 08 is a mother walking with a cub at her heels.

The heads are a front-facing face with heavy fur (03), a side profile (16) and a face that switches halfway across from fur to geometric facets (05). Design 07 is a bear paw with five long claws. The two teddies (01 and 17) have stitched seams down the body and around the foot pads, and the teddy in 17 hugs a stitched heart.

Which designs hold up as solid shapes

The solid files are the outer edge only, with nothing inside, so some bears survive the switch better than others. The walking, standing and scene designs keep their shape. The trees, moon and ferns stay in the silhouette, and the mountain range in 04 stays as thin lines.

Others lose what made them different. The geometric half of the face in 05 disappears, leaving a plain head shape very close to the solid 03. The two teddies end up nearly identical, since the heart in 17 sits inside the outline, and the two sleeping bears become rounded mounds. For those designs, use the line version.

Taking a design to your own tattoo

The guide treats the large pages as scalable reference sheets. Size the bear first, make a paper test at the final size, then bring that to your tattoo artist to settle scale and placement. It also points out that a line on paper doesn’t always come out the same on skin. Isolated marks and enclosed spaces in the line art may need bridges if you plan to make a stencil.

The small-format pages print four designs at 3 inches each with a 1-inch bar in the corner. Print at 100% / Actual Size and measure the bar to check the scale.

Questions

Are the files already mirrored for a tattoo transfer?
No. All the designs are supplied unmirrored. The guide says to flip a design only if your transfer paper or device calls for it, to flip it once, either in software or at the printer, and to keep an unmirrored copy to compare against.
How big is the bear on the 8-inch artboard?
The artboard has a clear margin on purpose. The visible drawing measures about 6.5 inches on its longest side, so crop to the art or select the vector paths when you need an exact final width.
