Seventeen of the 24 pairs in this printable space memory game come from the real sky and real missions, and seven come from cartoon science fiction. Even the real ones are friendly, with a smiling sun and a smiling crescent moon.
Real and made-up
| From the real sky and real missions | From the imagination |
|---|---|
| Sun, Moon, Earth, Mars, Saturn, galaxy, star, shooting star, meteor, astronaut, rocket, space shuttle, lunar lander, Mars rover, satellite, telescope, moon flag | alien, UFO, robot, ray gun, space cat, space dog, space ice pop |
The deck has a few near-twins that make the full game harder: Mars and the Mars rover, the Moon and the moon flag, a star and a shooting star.
The 12-pair set
The smaller set is Earth, Mars, the Moon, the Sun, a rocket, a space shuttle, a lunar lander, a Mars rover, a satellite, a telescope, a robot and a UFO. That’s 24 cards, with only one of the near-twins (Mars and the rover) left in.
Printing it
Pick picture-only cards or cards with the name printed underneath, and a grid layout with shared dashed cut lines or a bordered layout with each card in its own purple frame. On US Letter the grid cards are about 2.5 inches square. Card stock keeps the pictures from showing through, and the lavender card backs are there if you want to print double-sided.
