Nature Coloring Pages: 30 Earth Landscapes and Habitats from Canyons and Caves to Reefs and Tundra
Thirty scenes that each show one kind of place on Earth, such as a layered canyon, a mangrove shore, hot spring terraces or Arctic sea ice. Most pages have an animal that lives there, a few have kids and grown-ups exploring, and every drawing comes with a full-color version.

A river delta, a cave full of stalactites, a coral reef, a tundra with musk oxen: every one of these 30 nature coloring pages is a different kind of place. The drawings read like scenes in a picture book, with a full landscape behind and an animal or a person up front, rather than a single flower or leaf to fill.
Where the 30 scenes go
- Rivers, valleys and land shapes: a mountain river valley, a meandering floodplain, a branching delta, a layered canyon, a glacier-carved U-shaped valley, high plateau country, an alluvial fan and a gravel-bed river
- Coasts: a glacier meeting the sea, a barrier island and lagoon, rocky shore tide pools, a mangrove shore, an estuary salt marsh and a coast of basalt columns
- Heat, sand and rock underground: desert dunes with an oasis, a volcanic island with lava running down its slope, hot spring terraces and a limestone cave
- Forests, grass and wet ground: rainforest layers, a temperate woodland in autumn, prairie grass with its roots shown under the soil, and a freshwater wetland
- Cold places: Arctic tundra, Arctic sea ice and an Antarctic penguin coast
- Under the water: a shallow coral reef, a kelp forest and a seagrass meadow
- People at work outdoors: a groundwater field station with two people taking a reading, and a family planting along a riverbank
Who’s in the pictures
Animals carry most of the pages. You’ll find a heron, a marmot, a sea turtle, a fennec fox, a toucan, a deer, bison, a musk ox with its calf, a polar bear and cub, penguins, a sea otter and ducks with a frog and a dragonfly. Eight pages include people, such as two hikers, a pair paddling a canoe through the delta, two kids at a canyon railing, an explorer with a headlamp in the cave and a grown-up and child bent over the tide pools. The faces are soft and friendly, not realistic portraits.
How busy the drawings are
The background of each page is filled with small trees, rocks and ripples, while the animal or person in front has bigger shapes. That makes the pages slow to finish for younger colorers, but there are open areas everywhere to rest on. The color file uses bright, natural colors, like a turquoise reef and orange autumn leaves, and it helps on scenes like the hot spring terraces where it paints the mineral steps orange and cream around turquoise pools.
Set your printer to Actual Size with the sheet turned sideways, and choose the A4 files if your paper is A4; the scenes match.
Questions
- Are there labels or facts on the pages?
- No. The only words are the scene name under the picture, such as Alluvial Fan or Kelp Forest, and a page number. The start-here notes describe the scenes as illustrations, not scale maps or technical diagrams.
- Is there a page of the whole Earth or an Earth Day theme?
- No. Every page is a close-up of one landscape or habitat, so if you want a globe to color, this set doesn't have one.
