Every fairy in this set has closed eyes, rosy cheeks and a mushroom cap that is as big as the rest of her. The caps do most of the work: a classic red toadstool with white spots, butter yellow, smoky blue, lilac, mint, a brown cap with dark spots, one that is really a pumpkin, and a green one with moss-colored spots. The colors are soft and a little uneven, like a wash of paint, with pale outlines.
What they’re holding
Each fairy has a small prop, which makes it easy to match one to a theme: a tiny mushroom, an acorn, a lantern, a snail, a sprout, a star, a flower, a book, an umbrella, a basket, a wooden spoon and a dragonfly wand among them. A few wear capes, and most have thin, see-through wings.
Size and printing
At 3000 pixels square and 300 DPI, each file prints 10 inches wide at full quality, which is plenty for an 8 × 10 nursery print or a mug wrap. The figure fills the middle of the square with clear space around it, so crop the canvas if you want the fairy to touch the edges of your design.
The background is fully transparent. Placed on kraft paper or a pale green card, the soft colors stay soft, and on a dark background the fairies stand out with their light caps and wings.
