Half circus ring, half fairground midway, this set mixes a lion, a tiger, an elephant on a stool, a monkey, a seal balancing a ball and a horse in a feathered headdress with popcorn, cotton candy, a candy apple, a Ferris wheel, a ticket and a hot air balloon. The title across the top of each card is set in marquee-style letters dotted with light bulbs, between a clown and a jester hat.
The 25 pictures
Besides the animals and the snacks, the list covers the show itself: a circus tent, the ringmaster’s top hat, a magic hat with a rabbit peeking out, a magic wand, a clown nose, an oversized clown shoe, juggling balls, a unicycle, a circus cannon, a circus train, a bunch of balloons, confetti and a star.
Card design
Each page has a red-and-white striped border with a string of colored flags along the top, a white panel with thin red grid lines, and a pale peach free square with a gold star. A one-line rule sits under the title, so the goal is printed on every card.
Every card shows 24 of the 25 pictures, so each board is missing only one. Most calls hit most cards, and a round rarely drags on. Layouts don’t repeat within a set or between the 30-card and 50-card sets, though a few cards share the same 24 pictures in a different order.
