This is a pass the present game written as a poem. The children sit in a circle with one wrapped parcel, and the host reads the verses out loud. Each verse has two lines: the first rhymes about the party, and the second, in bold, says where the parcel goes.
How the verses move the parcel
The first verse sends it to the birthday child. After that, the parcel goes to someone wearing something bright, to whoever came the farthest, to the youngest guest, or to the best dancer in the room. Some verses count seats instead, like two seats on for anyone wearing red, or left, then right, then left again in verse 14. The fifteenth verse ends the game, and whoever is holding the parcel gets to open it.
The rules above the poem cover the arguments before they start: if two children both fit a line, the younger one goes first, and nobody is ever out.
Printing
Everything is on one page, so print a single copy for the reader. The color version uses pink and teal with balloons, party hats and cakes around the border, and the black-and-white version keeps the same layout.
