Floral Color by Number is a classic color by number book: 50 designs in thick black outlines, with a small number inside every petal, leaf and stem. Unlike a mystery grid, you can see what you’re coloring from the start, and the numbers decide the palette.
The color key
A Color Key page at the front lists 18 colors, each with a number and a name: gray, brown, tan, cream, peach, red, coral, orange, yellow, light yellow, olive, lime, green, teal, sky blue, lavender, pink and white. The numbers on the key run from 2 to 24 with a few skipped, so check the key rather than counting along your pencil box. Once you’ve matched your own pencils or markers to it, the whole book uses the same set.
The flowers
The first pages are the familiar favorites: a single rose, a bouquet of three roses, a tulip, a sunflower, a bunch of daisies, a water lily on its pads, a peony, a lily and an orchid. After that come a hibiscus, poppies, a cherry blossom branch, lavender, a bright mixed bunch, an iris, a magnolia branch, a chrysanthemum, a carnation, daffodils, hydrangea, a bird of paradise, lily of the valley, bluebells, foxgloves, lupines and a hanging spray of wisteria.
The last pages move from single stems to arrangements: bouquets wrapped and in glass vases, a vase of tulips, a flower wreath, a hanging basket, a potted succulent and a flowering cactus.
Solutions and printing
The last six pages show every design colored in, nine to a page, in the same order as the puzzles, so you can check a tricky area before committing. Each paper size comes as two PDFs: Part 1 has the front pages and the first 25 designs, Part 2 the other 25 and the solutions. The spaces are large enough for colored pencils or felt-tip markers, and the how-to-print page asks for 100% or Actual size.
