Moonlight Museum Detective Activity Pack
The moon medal is gone from its stand at a night-time museum, and a cat detective and her team follow the records room by room until six evidence words point to one place. Nobody is a suspect, so the case is solved by checking records, not by blaming anyone.

Moonlight Museum Detective Club is a 44-page printable detective activity book for ages 6 to 9, built around one case: the moon medal is missing from its museum stand. Nova, a caped cat, leads the investigation with Lumen the owl curator, Echo the bat who carries the records and Bolt the robot helper.
Six rooms, six clues
The case moves through six stages: The Empty Stand, The Exhibit Gallery, The Record Archive, The Key Alcove, The Storage Room and Case Closed. Each has six tasks, and one of them is a clue note with three statements and three choices, always the stage’s last task except in Case Closed, where it comes just before the final deduction. The first one reads “It is storage furniture. It has doors and drawers. It is not a wall or a floor.” The answer is copied onto the evidence board, and by task 36 all six words have to agree on one location.
The other tasks in each stage are the warm-up and the legwork:
- matching exhibit and archive pictures to labels
- counting trays, adding inventory tickets and comparing with >, < or =
- mazes to the information desk and through the key room
- putting the opening log, the archive routine and a recovery plan in order
- two records with four changed positions to circle
- drawing gallery and storage items into row and column grids
- word searches for archive and case words, read right or down
- a number-to-shape code and a medal design copied across a mirror line
Two pages are for coloring, the gallery in stage 2 and the storage room in stage 5, and two are open drawing tasks: a museum record card and a case note with a kind reminder.
A calm kind of mystery
The case brief says it outright: no one is accused, and good detectives check evidence before making a conclusion. The guide puts it as a story that rewards accurate records and kindness, and the final case report even ends with a helpful reminder for the team. Keep the guide with the grown-up until the end, because its last page explains what really happened to the medal.
Questions
- How is it different from the Detective Academy Logic Puzzle Book?
- Detective Academy is a logic puzzle book with four suspects and sudoku. This one is a single museum case for younger kids, ages 6 to 9, with no suspects to accuse, and its puzzles are counting, matching, mazes and clue notes.
- Can the stages be done out of order?
- Most tasks work on their own, but the six evidence tasks and the final deduction make sense only in order, since task 36 uses all six words.
