Eight bears have breakfast in this set of bear fuse bead patterns, and sixteen pieces of the meal sit around them. The bears are round, caramel to deep orange, with pink cheeks and cream muzzles, and each one holds or sits in something: a honey pot, a slice of egg toast, a heart-shaped waffle, a striped milk cup, a pancake, a coffee mug (that one wears a green nightcap), a croissant under a chef’s hat, and a bread basket.

The breakfast table

Designs 09 to 24 are the food and the things around it:

  • To eat: egg on toast, a waffle with a pat of butter, a pancake stack dripping honey, a croissant, an egg in a skillet, a yogurt bowl topped with berries, honeycomb toast, and a loaf with a cut slice.
  • To drink: a green-topped milk carton with a sun on it, a teapot, a latte mug with heart foam art, and a glass of orange juice with an orange slice on the rim.
  • Around the house: a cottage with a green roof, an A-frame menu board, a gingham-lined basket and a flower pitcher holding a daisy.

The teapot, mug, juice glass, menu board and pitcher all carry a small bear face, so the set reads as one café even where no full bear appears.

How the charts read

Each design gets two pages. The first fills every square with its color and prints a letter on it; the second keeps the letters on a plain grid, which is easier to read when you are matching beads square by square, and cheaper on ink. Both have numbered rows and columns and the same color key, which lists each letter with a shade name such as Rust, Peach or Light Ginger and the exact number of beads.

The letters start over with every design, so A is a different color from one chart to the next. Most designs use 12 colors; Golden Croissant uses 9. Shade names are generic descriptions, not any bead maker’s color numbers, so match them to your beads by eye.

Size and paper

Every design is 64 beads on its long side. The other side runs from 39 beads for the bread loaf to 60 for the gingham basket, and a design takes 1,819 to 3,202 beads. In standard 5 mm fuse beads such as Perler, 64 beads comes to about 12.6 inches (32 cm); in 2.6 mm mini beads, about 6.5 inches (17 cm). Perler is named only to show the bead size; Doodlora Studio has no affiliation with Perler or other bead makers.

These are reading charts. They don’t print at actual bead size, so you can’t lay beads on the page. The US Letter, A4 and A3 books hold the same 48 pages; pick the A3 file if your printer takes that paper and you want bigger squares and letters. Ironing is a job for an adult.
